Overview

The EMM is responsible for promptly managing a high volume of inquiries, making telephone and outside sales calls, generating site inspections and booking all group related business of 25 room nights or less on peak, to include but not limited to,: corporate, local volume accounts, SMERF, relocation, government, military, training and local demand generator sourced business (i.e.; hospitals, schools, nursing and catering facilities).

  1. Establishes lead sources for each targeted market segment and makes initial sales solicitation

  2. As assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing, responsibilities include prospecting and penetrating additional Group business, regardless of the size of the room block.

  3. Creation and maintenance of sales file for clients, to include weekly/monthly reporting on bookings and call activity.

  4. Utilizes Delphi as a lead log for follow up and client call trace systems.

  5. Working closely with Reservations Manager filling in periods of soft demand during off peak and shoulder seasons, obtaining rate and stay approvals prior to transacting sales contracts with client.
  6. Network with affiliated PHR hotels, competitive hotels for lead source generation.

  7. Adheres to the approved selling activity quotas, reporting progress to DOS on a weekly and monthly basis.

  8. Responds to all franchise generated group leads.

  9. Obtains rate and restriction approvals from DOS and or Director of Revenue Management prior to extending group sales agreement to client.

  10. Processes all group sales contracts and ensures booking details are thoroughly communicated with Reservations and Operations.

  11. Generates a specified number of client site inspections each week.

  12. Participates with any and all PHR and/or franchise related sales blitz programs, locally and in feeder city markets.

  13. Develop and implement creative sales strategies by analyzing historical, current and future trends and booking patterns.

  14. Establishes contact and maintains a consistent relationship with all pertinent travel managers and contacts identified as a realistic source of business.

  15. Attends daily Business Review meeting and weekly one on ones with Director of Sales & Marketing

  16. Actively participates and works closely with any and all lead producing organizations including: area CVB's, Chambers (local and feeder markets) and client trade specific associations.
