Overview

The Cavalier Resort Activities Manager is responsible for the coordination, scheduling, planning and execution of the resort’s daily activities and special events. They are friendly, creative, a problem solver, self-starter and have a flexible schedule. The resort activities coordinator supervisor will create monthly calendars throughout the season to schedule daily activities for guests of the resort and residents of the Cavalier and 42 Ocean. They will manage the booking software, adding and editing events as needed. They will oversee the activities coordinator team, ensuring proper staffing for all resort activities and will work with the Beach Club manager to ensure the resort activity program is properly executed and up to Marriott and Cavalier Resort standards.

Responsibilities

1 Oversees recruitment, retention, and training efforts for the activities staff, ensuring efforts result in a well-trained staff capable of consistently exceeding guest/owner expectations while delivering a top notch guest experience and product (i.e., well executed activity program).

2. Conducts effective and timely audits of existing activity programs, ensuring the right programs are implemented at the right location within each property, and targeted to the right audience and that these programs are executed in the most cost-effective manner

3. Manages staff and plans proactively and adjusts programs as needed.

4. Coordinates with the Beach Club Manager to prepare weekly schedules along with a weekly organized activity calendar and implement activities

5. Responsible for purchasing retail inventory for the Activities Center and performs and month end inventory of merchandise

6. Effectively manages a team of Activity Attendants, ensuring optimum staffing levels and productivity

7. Orders or purchases supplies for activities and picks up materials needed from outside facilities

8. Handle all in house and external communication for activities

9. Manage sign-ups from residents and hotel guests for daily activities

10. Ensuring resort flyers and signage on resort property is correct and up to date.

11. Ensure guest and resident satisfaction while participating in sponsored activities

12. Continuously look for new, fun, and innovative ways to expand the resort’s activities offerings.

13. Create promotional material with in-house resources and handle marking efforts (updated lobby screens, weekly resort guides and distribution, etc.).

14. Handle guest issues at activities as they arise. Contact the Beach Club Manager if you cannot resolve the issue.

15. Ensure proper ID procedures are followed at any event that includes alcohol.

16. Ensure Marriott resort fee guidelines are met.

17. Issues payment to all vendors, ensuring correct and prompt payment.

18. Oversees the Beach Club operation in the absence of the Beach Club Manager.
