Overview

The Hilton Norfolk The Main, Audio-Visual Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the sales efforts of their assigned venue. This position will act as front-line sales for the venue sales team and will be responsible for generating all scope of work (SOW) and contracts for their leads. The Sales Manager will be tasked to move leads through their respective sales funnel using our Company’s proprietary sales process, focusing on connection, prequalification, solutions, and more.  This position will work hand-in-hand with the AV Manager to ensure excellence in guest experience as it relates to AV needs, sales and service.  The Audio-Visual Sales Manager will be accountable for procurement of equipment, inventory and quality controls of equipment and service in conjunction with the AV Manager.  This position will promote Associate engagement, retention and development through effective and engaging mentorship of the AV Manager and assist with leadership of the AV Associates.  Business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended business hours and weekends required.

Responsibilities

    • Serve as a sales subject matter expert and ambassador for the designated hotel sales team.
    • Oversee AV Sales objectives and strategies; analyzes industry trends to ensure market competitiveness. 
    • Generate and revise the scope of work, quotes, proposals and contracts based on the needs of venue leads requiring AV products and services.
    • Utilize the Company’s proprietary sales process as directed, including the prequalification of leads, quote generation, timely contract confirmations, pricing and service negotiations, follow-up, and more.
    • Build a deep knowledge of the property’s products and offerings; display a passion for learning and understanding new technologies.
    • Provide hotel leads with necessary resources, i.e., layouts, renderings and visuals, product suggestions, etc.
    • Enter all pertinent client information into Delphi CRM platform and develop and drive an individual sales strategy that includes individual and team funnel, and sales activity reporting. Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Sales and Catering team and the Conference Service Managers.
    • Focus on building outstanding relationships, lines of communication, and trust within the hotel sales team and PHR Goldkey internal teams.
    • Represent the hotel venue during site visits, planning meetings, pre-convention and debrief meetings.
    • Deliver “Gold Standard” customer experiences throughout the sales process, event execution, and post-event follow-up.
    • Support a culture that promotes effective communications, service excellence, teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and Associate satisfaction
    • Train, retrain and mentor AV Manager to execute successful operation of the department.
    • Practice responsible financial management of the AV department.  Work with Director of Catering and Convention Services to develop annual business plans and budgets, review and analyze financial statements, accurately forecast financial performance and deliver financial results in accordance with those budgets.
    • Collaborate with Director of Catering and Convention Services and corporate support partners to review, recommend and develop Audio Visual Sales SOPs, pricing guidelines, and marketing programs.
    • Perform Emergency Response duties as required for this role as outlined in the Emergency Response Organization Chart and Plan.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering technology, business, a related field or the equivalent in experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a customer service-facing role; prior sales experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, ability to generate high-quality insights into sales activity and progress.
  • Production and Staging experience are preferred.
  • Scenic and Décor experience is preferred.
  • Rigging, Electrical, and Exhibit experience is preferred.
